Avoiding Hordes

Using Nitro boosts is a great way to out drive these massive hordes. Be sure to upgrade your bike ASAP. This can be done at Copeland's Camp, Iron Mike's Camp, and Diamond Lake. Remember, those last two camps take a while to access.

Finding and wiping out all 37 Freaker hordes results in you obtaining the St. John Horde Killer Custom Skin for your motorcycle. Additionally, each individual horde slain will gain you a chunk of trust for that region as well as a handful of experience points.

Hordes are giant groups of Swarmers. You can generally find them during the day resting in caves or other dark locations. At night they will move around as a group to their feeding grounds. Early in the game it is best to avoid hordes.

Hordes are comprised of between 25 and 500 Swarmers. Each horde is positioned in various environments and shows slight differences between each other. They will typically hibernate somewhere dark in those environments and come out during the night.

You'll unlock a custom bike skin for each of the game's storylines you 100%. Get yourself to a mechanic who offers upgrades at the nearest friendly encampment. Cycle through to 'Paint' then 'Decals' on the menu.

Hordes are also a great tool after you've completed the main story to get Trust up to 3 and go for 100%.

The IPCA Stun Gun is a taser device accessible via the Survival Wheel after collecting all 18 pieces of IPCA Tech. Deacon has to hit the target with both pronged wires to have it work. While the weapon isn't very efficient, it allows Deacon to stun Freakers and has a small chance of setting them on fire.

How often do hordes spawn? ›

There is a 120 unit to 170 unit distance travel requirement for horde to spawn. Trickle hordes spawn between 40 seconds and 45 seconds, with a travel distance between 70 and 140 units. Malice (Tier 3): Max active enemies is 100, there are 10 seconds between horde waves and they spawn between 230 and 400 seconds.

Machine guns have large ammo magazines and high rates of fire, making them the weapon of choice for dealing with hordes or powerful enemies. Sniper Rifles are the best defense against enemy snipers.

Freakers, or known as the infected or simply Freaks, are mutated humans and animals that fell victim to a viral infection referred to as the "Freaker Virus," turning them into ravenous cannibalistic monsters. They are a major antagonistic force, and catalyst for events in Days Gone.

The biggest horde in the game is the Old Sawmill Horde. The players will come across this Horde during the mission called “I'll Save Some for You”. This required the players to clear out the Sawmill Horde that happens to be the biggest Horde battle available in the game.

Horde Mode has existed in World War Z for some time, and tasks players with holding down a single location as waves of zombies invade. Trust Level is one of the many metrics in Days Gone. Trust Level is unique to camps. You can reach up to Level 3 of Trust on each camp. Every level of Trust reached unlocks new weapons, throwable items, new gear and decals for your motorcycle.

You are now free to explore and complete any unfinished business, like clearing infestations, defeating hordes, or gathering Collectibles. Deacon has defeated the Militia and reunited with Sarah. Wizard Island Camp and Diamond Lake Camp are now survivor settlements like the others.

The fastest way to increase trust is to complete missions in a camp's area. Even quests that don't really have anything to do with the camp will reward you with trust, including side missions and clearing out infestation zones and ambush camps. Each camp has a main series of quests; these give you the most trust.

To obtain the IPCA Stun Gun, you must craft it. The craft recipe unlocks by completing There's Nothing You Can Do, an optional mission that becomes available after the main story is completed. The recipe calls for 18 pieces of IPCA Tech. All 18 pieces can be found near NERO Checkpoints and NERO Research Sites.

1 Chicago Chopper

Styled on the famous Tommy Gun, this is the best weapon that you can get in Days Gone. This weapon can kill enemies with a single bullet. With a capacity of 55 and firing at the rate of any normal submachine gun, this can put down a lot of Freakers in a short period of time.

Purchase Them: Primary weapons can be purchased from merchants at three of the camps. These are Hot Springs (Tucker's) Camp, Iron Mike's Camp, and Wizard Island Camp. Complete Objectives: Certain weapons are unlocked by completing missions and other objectives.

These will refuel you to 100% and a great Days Gone tip to remember is that when you leave the area and come back, it'll have respawned in the same spot you found it. You can also place them near enemies and shoot it for a huge explosion.

Alternatively, you can also find Scrap as loot in the open world, mostly near buildings and it's sometimes looted from enemies (particularly at Sniper Ambushes). It's worth noting that there is infinite scrap in the game because it respawns in the world and in cars.

Barrels usually respawn in 48 hours, removing anything placed in them and restocking its inventory.

Pokémon encountered in hordes may also have their Hidden Ability. Some Pokémon can only be found in hordes. Not all locations have wild hordes, but where they exist, hordes may be randomly encountered at approximately a 5% rate in tall grass or flowers (but not in long grass in Pokémon X and Y) or in caves.

A horde could be anywhere from hundreds to tens of thousands, depending on their target and how long they stay unified.
